PAS won’t be lured into leaving Pakatan, affirms Nik Aziz

PAS will not entertain any of Umno’s call for PAS to leave the opposition pact, its spiritual leader, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said today.

He said PAS would not be influenced by others in determining its stand on its existing relationship with the DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

Nik Abdul Aziz, who is also Kelantan mentri besar, said this when asked to comment on the call by Umno Youth for PAS to quit the opposition pact following polemics among its partners.

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin had also urged PAS to leave the opposition pact, saying the party was no longer respected by the DAP.

Nik Aziz said PAS’ decision to stay in the pact had been agreed upon at the party’s assembly in Ipoh, last year. – Bernama

PAS is a party based on the Islamic principles which clearly opposed race supremacy based party. Islam has stated clearly there is no difference between an Arab and a non Arab except the degree of obey to Allah. If the Arab race is not higher than other race, certainly Malay is not above anybody else too.
In this sense PAS is not compatible with UMNO because UMNO promotes supremacy of the Malay race over the others in Malaysia.
If the Malays in UMNO believe truly in the Islamic principles of politics and leadership they will abandon UMNO and join PAS. PAS believe that the political stand in this world should be in accordance with the principles as prescribed by the religion and the work done in this world is a service to Allah. That is why Nik Aziz told UMNO to go to hell.
